First Hard-Hat Walk Through

1 min read

This week, the NVG team pulled on hard hats and boots for our first walk-through of the Patrick Foley Center for Grape Growing & Farmworker Education. After months of following progress through plans, photos, and weekly reports, standing inside the framing and seeing the shape of the classrooms and gathering spaces take form was a moment we won't soon forget.

The Grapegrowers Center is starting to feel real, and it's already easy to picture growers, farmworkers, and community members learning side by side here. A big thank you to the Nordby team for walking us through the site. Here's what has been happening on the ground:

  • Framing keeps climbing. Crews continued work on the Pavilion, the Utility Shed, and the dormers at the Main Building.

  • Ready for the rain. The site was further weatherized in preparation for upcoming weather, helping protect the work completed so far.

  • Taking shape out front. Grading continued, bringing the area in front of the Main Building close to finished grade.

With floor trusses on the way and the site ready for the season ahead, the Grapegrowers Center is moving steadily toward its planned November 2027 opening. Thank you to our community, partners, and supporters for following along.
